Do you fancy the road less travelled? Do you like immersing yourself in alien cultures that seem like they still belong to the centuries past? If the answer is yes, Mongolia should definitely be on your bucket list. It is a vast country of immense natural beauty that still preserves the traditional nomadic way of life, perhaps more so than any other place on Earth. From the Taiga forest and massive inland lakes in the North, snow covered Altai mountains in the west, endless steppes in central Mongolia, and the world famous Gobi Desert in the south, this country has a diverse set of landscapes that are sure to take your breath away. Incidentally, the fist ever dinosaur fossils were also discovered in Mongolia and it's not really hard to imagine giants roaming these otherworldly landscapes much before we came into existence. More than anything else, it is the humility and warmth of it's traditionally nomadic people, is what makes this country a must visit.
