Day 1 : Arrival in Punta Arenas

Welcome to Punta Arenas, lying on the Strait of Magellan between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, it is the southernmost city in the world. The city is an eclectic mix of sprawling clean plazas, modern housing and old 19th-century mansions dotted about. It is also one of Chile’s two tax-free ports (the other being Iquique in the north) and this means that you can find all your hiking gear for a fraction of the cost it would be elsewhere.

Today afternoon, you are welcomed at a Private Venue for our Welcome Dinner. Enjoy taste of local Chilean Cuisine and Wine accompanied by music from the region.

Day 2 : Explore Punta Arenas

Punta Arenas, widely known as the gateway to Patagonia sits beautifully on the coast of Magellan covered with wild landscapes. Wider Patagonia covers nearly 400,000sq miles (roughly 1,000,000sq km) of unforgiving gorges, deep mountain lakes and the southerly ends of life on land itself. We plan to spend the first half of the day exploring areas around Punta Arenas. We offer multiple day trips to ensure that we get to pick and choose the ones closest to our interest.

Later in the afternoon, you are welcomed to Explorers’ House to get ready for Antarctica. Starting with a mandatory briefing that provides important information about your air-cruise and the essential guidelines for Antarctic visitors. We enjoy a special dinner at the Explorers’ House.

Day 3 : Charter flight to King George Island and on board the Magellan Explorer

King George Island, the largest of the South Shetland Islands, is considered the gateway to Antarctica. It is just 120 kilometres from the Antarctic Peninsula and has the only airport in the South Shetlands. More than 10 countries have scientific research stations on the island, as well as a Russian Orthodox church. The island is home to a diverse wildlife population, including penguins, seals, and birds. It was named after King George III after it was discovered by British explorers in 1819.

Today morning we get on board our plane for a two-hour journey from Punta Arenas to King George Island. You then board a minibus passing Chile’s Frei Station and Russia’s Bellingshausen Station, to reach the shore and board a Zodiac that will take you to your expedition vessel.

Day 4 : Explore the Antarctic Peninsula

The Antarctic Peninsula is a beckoning finger reaching out to the adventurous, offering a spectacular first taste of the snow-blanketed landscapes and colossal ice sculptures of Earth's least-explored continent.

Cruise between the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, sailing along ice-filled fjords and among spectacular icebergs, while enjoying the company of seabirds, penguins, seals, and whales. Each day disembark by Zodiac and explore the landscape together with expert polar guides. On board the ship, attend an engaging program of educational presentations, and enjoy spectacular views from the lounge while sharing your daily adventures with fellow guests.
